CLOT was prolific during its time with the Swoosh, but even the brand’s staunchest supporters couldn’t have predicted the amount of product they’ve already unveiled since switching over to the Three Stripes. After the new partnership was announced, it only took about four months for the first rippled-soled adidas Superstar to hit the market. Since then, nearly a dozen distinct styles have tangibly hit the market or the web via “first looks.”
Iterating on the JENNIE-assisted off-white colorway and its “Blue Bird” sequel from two months later, the two partners continue their work on the adidas Gazelle. The aforementioned pairs were certifiably built for the summer, featuring breathable rattan-like uppers. To befit a new season, the “Navy” and “Off-White” pairs swap to more traditional fare, blending suede, leather, and synthetics in a closer approximation of the football model’s usual composition. However, many CLOT aspects persist, from the beaded branding at the quarter to the ribbon-finished laces that arrive with both pairs.
The model in use is currently reported as the adidas Gazelle OG, an archival cut of the football model you’d frequently spot on shelves until 2016. However, note the sole unit — the heel extends beyond the rear body with a thin lip running throughout, a hallmark of the Gazelle Indoor. The main selling points of this shoe remain regardless, but it’s an additional piece of intrigue to wade through as we learn more about this drop.
Both pairs in the next adidas x CLOT Gazelle OG collection release on November 11th, each retailing for $160. Expect further details as we approach that date, but for now, check out some preliminary retail images included below.
