Nike has become increasingly more immersed in Korean culture, crafting colorways exclusive to the country and collaborating with superstars the likes of G-Dragon. This year, the brand is even participating in Hangul Day, celebrating the upcoming holiday with a very special colorway of the Dunk Low.
For the uninitiated, Hangul Day — which takes place on October 9th of every year — is dedicated to the creation of the Korean alphabet, whose origins can be traced all the way back to the country’s Golden Period. This Dunk Low pays overt homage to the occasion: in addition to featuring Hangul along both the rear and inside of the shoes, the pair dresses up in a colorway that bears a subtle resemblance to the large statue of King Sejong that sits in Gwanghwamun Square.
