Gayle King Coordinates Studded Sandals With Florals at 2024 Tribeca Festival Opening Night Screening Of ‘Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge’

Gayle King found the right shades of blue to support her pal in New York City.
King wore a strappy, studded stiletto sandal to the opening night screening of “Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge” during the 2024 Tribeca Festival at BMCC Tribeca PAC on Wednesday night. The open-toe, baby blue shoes have a thick strap over the front of the toe adorned with rows of circular and square silver studs. There is a slim strap that goes around the ankle and closes with a silver clasp and a thin stiletto heel measuring approximately 2.5-inches.
The radio and television host went with an off-the-shoulder blue and white floral dress that matched her shoes perfectly. The dress has ruching near the waist and hit the middle of her calves. There is a large slit starting in the mid-thigh area which helped show off all angles of King’s stylish feet. She finished off the outfit with a chunky silver bracelet, a purple silicone bracelet, silver rings and an Apple watch as her smooth bob framed her face.
The 69-year-old posed solo for the June 5, 2024 event at the BMCC Theater honoring the designer, but also playfully posed with Von Furstenberg, who lovingly looked at her friend. The 98 minute documentary chronicles the life of the wrap dress creator which helped launch von Furstenberg’s career as a designer and successful businesswoman. DVF’s notable pals like Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and Fran Lebowitz are interviewed in the film as she prepares for a museum exhibit showcasing her life’s work.
King is known to pair a dress with a stylish heel. This past April, she wore a sparkly pair of SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker heels. Then, she wore a hot pink, breathable shoe to the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2023 and a red, floral ensemble with Kate Spade strappy shoes in New York.
Often defined by long straps that wrap around the ankle and up the leg for security, strappy sandals are a popular choice with shorter dresses and other silhouettes that showcase legs. A staple shoe of the warmer months, strappy sandals can be any heel height for versatile wear.
