Just a few months after it was announced that Kevin Durant would be signing with the Brooklyn Nets in 2019, the two-time NBA Champion alongside his business partner Rich Kleiman founded Boardroom, a media entity centered on covering the intersections between business and sports. Following the release of his 16th signature silhouette with Nike this Fall, the Beaverton brand will be providing the media network with its own iteration of the Nike KD 16.
Durant has long since provided his close friends and industry partners with the opportunity to stamp their own colorway atop his signature series, whether it be through his childhood friend’s clothing brand Enspire or the Producer Pack that saw the KD 15 team up with Durant’s favorite hip-hop producers. The “Boardroom” inspired ensemble is no different, taking after the brand’s staple monochromatic color palette by curing the entirety of the upper in a jet-black tint. Stamping the insoles with the Boardroom iconography, the left tongue dial takes on the logo of Durant’s 35 Ventures investment firm that backs the media brand. Underfoot, a clad cream sole unit harkens to the widely popular “Off-White” inspired KD 15s while a pitch-dark “Obsidian” composes the TPU wings and tread below.
The Nike KD 16 “Boardroom” is currently available via the store list below for a retail price of $160 while detailed imagery of the pair can be seen ahead.
For more on-court silhouettes, the Tatum 1 “Bleached Tie-Dye” recently surfaced.
