First Look At The Jordan MVP 92

Updated April 21st, 2025: This upcoming sneaker is officially called the Jordan MVP 92. It was first believed to be the Air Jordan 7 RM.

More than a year into its life cycle, it seems fair to say that the Air Jordan 4 RM has fared better than most hybrid or off-shoot Jordans. Part of that is no doubt owed to Nigel Sylvester, but ushering in a chunky, low-top alternate to the Air Jordan 4 proper has clearly been a savvy play for the Jumpman. Can lightning strike twice? Official images have just landed of the second such silhouette, the Air Jordan 7 RM, looming for a Fall 2025 debut with the two colorways at hand.

For those who have been tracking this story in lockstep with us, the final build demonstrates a few changes from the presumable sample pair that surfaced in 2024. Much of that comes at the foot entrance, swapping from ballistic mesh materials directly under the collar and raising up the same section to level out the inner bootie and pull-tab with the tongue. However, in the broadest strokes, the shoe follows the convention of the AJ4 RM, building a lower shoe around the most lasting features of the Air Jordan 7, seen with the spiky protrusions on the midsole and the jagged panelling in the upper.

Perhaps notable for OG fans, the triangular “23” stamp that defines most Air Jordan 7 colorways is gone, instead sizing up that shape and emblazoning “Nike Air” onto it For this likely initial delivery, the Air Jordan 7 RM comes close to but not exactly replicates the OG “Bordeaux” and “Raptors” editions, instead venturing on novel “Black/Wolf Grey” and “Black/Gym Red.”

Our coverage wouldn’t be complete without acknowledging some of the key differences on a strategic level. At least in our estimation, the motivators in ushering in the 2024 edition were easier to parse. The Air Jordan 4 had famously never been given a low version, nor  had it been the primary jumping-off point for a hybrid. Neither of those can be said for the silhouette at hand, already introducing an earnest Low in 2018 and heavily inspiring models like the Jordan True Flight or MVP 678. Even if it’s a shoe with more historical precedent, it would seem the bet is that the biking and skating-inspired vertical will propel this silhouette to similar heights.

Expect the Air Jordan 7 RM in these two looks to land this Fall. Retail pricing is currently unclear, but will likely become clearer as the launch nears closer. Catch official images below and keep our Jordan Release Dates post close by for more updates.
