Anime x Crocs has been an extremely popular and lucrative concept for the Colorado company in its recent resurgence. Naruto, Pokémon, Gundam, Hello Kitty, Dragon Ball — nearly every one of the most watched and highest-grossing franchises have stepped into the ring at some point. Except for one; a One Piece Crocs collection has been functionally a white whale over that span. In a complete surprise, it’s actually Japanese retailer atmos who’s reeling in the long-awaited collab, unveiling a One Piece Crocs Classic Clog that’s exclusive to their atmosCon exhibition.
Particularly modeled after Monkey D. Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation, explicated with the white/purple palette, cloudy tufted Sports Mode strap, and a silhouetted icon on the footbed. Despite the focus on his elevated form, some of Luffy’s most lasting iconography is also front and center with the attached Jibbitz, including his straw hat, purple devil fruit and black flag. The attachments round out with “pop out” eyes and a cleverly amended atmos logo reflecting the show’s logo. Additionally, it would appear that purchasers of this One Piece Crocs collab will receive an exclusive print, here depicted in a thin co-branded sleeve.
Though this link-up finally breaking is plenty exciting, it may be equally disappointing news for our stateside readership, likely familiar with the experience of spotting an attention-grabbing atmos pair only to find it’s exclusive to their home country. Perhaps this initial announcement portends a wider capsule down the road, however. Though in their deep collab backlog, there are some instances of the imprint bringing two companies together that never minted a sequel later down the road, it’s close to unimaginable that Crocs would leave such an easy opportunity for big business on the table.
As mentioned throughout, the atmos One Piece Crocs Classic Clog will be exclusive to atmosCon, running from April 19th to 20th. Check out additional angles included below.
