One of the most significant moments in the history of the Nike Air Max 95 occurred during the FIFA World Cup in 2002. Led by soccer legend Ronaldinho, the entire Brazilian National Team famously wore the “Neon” colorway on the sidelines, creating a cultural touchstone that comes to mind with every “Neon” release even over two decades later. In a fitting ode to the model’s longstanding ties to the pitch, Nike is supplementing its 30th anniversary Air Max 95 “Neon” retro with soccer cleats inspired by Sergio Lozano’s iconic design.
On the heels of a “Neon” Mercurial Vapor 16 Pro, the Mercurial SuperFly Elite 10 is following suit with an OG colorway impression of its own. Synthetic gradient sidewalls fade from light to dark grey as you move from the top-down, accompanied by “Neon” hits on the eyelets, mini Swoosh, traction, and added “Air Zoom” logo.
The Mercurial Superfly 10 Elite falls in the most premium category of Nike soccer cleats, crafted with Air Zoom cushioning and chevron/blade studs for fast cutting. Flyknit material makes up a stable, form-fitting interior, while sticky Nike Gripknit material provides top-tier ball control.
The Mercurial SuperFly Elite 10 “Neon” is scheduled to release April 14th via nike.com, commanding a lofty $310 price tag. The second wave of Air Max 95 “Neon” drops is expected to occur on April 18th.
