In 2021, Patta bolstered its reputation as the king of Nike Air Max 1 with a “Waves” collaboration that stood out as one of the strongest releases of the year, birthing a design that would see a total of six colorways between 2021-2022. Now a few years removed, Amsterdam’s most iconic sneaker boutique is bringing its signature “Waves” style to a different Tinker Hatfield banger; the Air Max 90.
After being tipped off in October of 2024, the full scope of the Patta Nike Air Max 90 “Waves” collaboration has now come to light. Two colorways are set to release Summer 2025, one of which plays off “Neon” lore with a “Cyber” accent color. The other stands out with pops of “Sapphire,” aligning well with the “Persian Violet” hue used notably on the Air Max BW. The defining feature; textured, wavy black mudguards akin to the aforementioned Patta Air Max 1s. Save for their respective accent colors, both looks play off OG color blocking with a palette of “Particle Grey/Neutral Grey/Black/Coconut Milk/White.” As for the materials, Patta opts for a thick mesh base and nubuck quarter/toe overlay.
Both Patta Air Max 90 “Waves” colorways land during the Summer 2025 shopping window, suggesting a release between April-June. Budget for a retail price of $150 if you’re hoping to secure a pair.
