Nike VaporFly 4 “Light Trails” Glows In The Dark

It’s been almost a full decade since runners wearing Nike VaporFly prototypes dominated the Rio Olympic Games, thus birthing the “super shoe” movement as we know it today. Fast forward to 2025 and Nike has a whole genre of top-shelf running lines positioned for different race types, with the VaporFly now being touted for shorter races and faster speeds. Now on its fourth iteration, the VaporFly 4 has surfaced in a glow-in-the-dark “Light Trails” colorway ahead of its earnest rollout in late April.

Day and night, these babies pop. Colorful horizontal streaks appear across the engineered mesh upper, contrasted by black paint pretty much everywhere else. Hit the lights and you’ll find that the tongue, eyelets, and midsole all glow in the dark, appearing in high-visibility neon green.

Getting into the tech specs, the VaporFly 4 features a 35mm heel and 29mm forefoot stack height for a 6mm drop. Notably, the VaporFly 3 featured a higher 40mm/32mm ratio (8mm drop). The VaporFly 4 is 10% lighter than its predecessor at 190 grams in a men’s size 10, complete with a carbon fiber Flyplate and ZoomX cushioning.

Only one VaporFly 4 release has occurred thus far – a “Prototype” colorway in mid-March – but the model will debut in earnest on April 24th. This “Light Trails” colorway is one of several on tap for that date, far and away the most intriguing of the bunch. Expect to pay $260 if you plan on copping.
