Once again, you’ve got to hand it to Grace Wales Bonner. We can’t be entirely sure whether some of the more radical touches seen on her Three Stripes output derived from her personal tinkering or came about as high-profile previews of inline touches already in the works. Nonetheless, the “long tongue” Samba has become a mainstay in the adidas catalog ever since the designer imprint debuted in 2023. Now the pitch-inspired model crops up as a part of a “Metallic” pack, pinning pink hues on the Samba LT.

The collision of decidedly un-sporty design with the in-game heritage again makes Wales Bonner all the more relevant in this discussion, but the shoe is already plenty eye-catching without her influences. Deep grooves in the toe-box that replace the usual T-toe lend some palpable depth to this design, while the reflective gloss on the leather makes its eye-catching appeal concrete.
