Jordan Brand has partially held up its celebration of its 40th anniversary in the only fitting way possible, with a heavy emphasis on the Air Jordan 1. As the breakout shoe that kicked off an empire, truly how could you not? Further, it’s been the High ’85 cut in center stage — most visibly with the “Bred” edition but also the “Irregular Shadow” edition coming later this year. As if to build anticipation, the 1985 sample’s broad strokes appear on Air Jordan 1 Low, set to hit shelves this Summer.
The top/bottom split of light grey on the suede overlays and black on the leather underpinnings does the heavy lifting in connecting this GR to that high heat product, but it’s really the faux-vintage sole underfoot that makes the tie concrete. To add a bit of distance between the two, the Air Jordan 1 Low “Irregular Shadow” utilizes a contrast white Swoosh, possibly clearing space in the rotation for both of the shoes alluded to here.
As mentioned above, the Air Jordan 1 Low “Irregular Shadow” should appear via the usual Nike channels (NDC, partnering stockists) in the coming weeks, retailing for $125. Keep an eye on our Jordan Release Dates for further updates.
