Jordan Brand is always willing to mine Mike’s legacy to inspire new looks that carry his winning ways. Be it overseas exhibitions or late night television appearances, many of the GOAT’s forgotten bits of legacy have already been utilized as starting points for modern retro pairs. With the 40th anniversary of Air Jordan raging on, we’ve crucially also seen metatextual references that spin off the shoe line’s history, and perhaps that initiative won’t be limited to 2025. The Air Jordan 4 “Flight Club” queued up for Spring 2026 harkens back to a simpler time in fandom and some of the peripheries that came with original Air Jordans.
The sepia tint that the leaflets have no doubt acquired in the years since those OG launches, as well as the always-reliable black and red color palette that marked the text, likely result in the “Sail/Black/University Red” color codes on tap for this Air Jordan 4. The exact insert depicted by early info sources appears to be one included with the Air Jordan 6 and 7, raising the question of why the Air Jordan 4 is the canvas for this colorway.

An additional connection could be the “Flight Club” newsletter that coincided with the original run of the AJ4, but its first issues came in 1988, overshooting the model’s introduction. Notably, however, the 1989 edition bears the same branding seen on the reverse of the inserted application, possibly a touchpoint in inspiring this look.
The narrative behind this pair will become clearer as the release grows nearer — expect the Air Jordan 4 “Flight Club” to land for Spring 2026, sometime in the span from January to March.
