adidas is dipping back into its chic sneaker bag with another animal print reimgaination. Following “Cheetah” colorways of the adidas Samba and adidas SL-72, all of which flew off shelves, the Three Stripes is wrapping Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature shoe in faux cowhide.
Needless to say, the shoe completely drops retro basketball aesthetics in favor of a more dressed-up, lifestyle focused theme. The faux cowhide material embodies the rise of Americana Core in the US and beyond, slotting naturally into wardrobes of the California cowboy variety (much like a recent adidas Rasant Mid). Other key touches include a brown leather adidas Jabbar logo on the tongue, white stripes, and a pre-faded Trefoil logo on the heel. Underfoot, the design is complete by a light brown gum sole.
The cowhide Jabber Hi comes to us amidst a broader resurgence of Kareem’s signature shoe, with the model already returning in original white and blue on top of collaborations by atmos and Footpatrol. Fear Of God’s Jerry Lorenzo also teased a premium version back in December of 2024, which may be just what the model needs to get on sneakerheads’ radar.
No US release date for the cowhide adidas Jabbar Hi has been floated at the time of this writing, but we’ll update this article once pairs start cropping up online. Be sure to follow us on X for updates.
