Original article published February 10th, 2025: A slew of reports in 2024 signalled that we were in for a heavy dose of Nike SB intra-company collaborations, building on the success of the now-coveted Air Jordan 4 SB “Pine Green.” A sequel to that shoe was one thing, but that headline was quickly followed by reports of an Air Max 95 and Air Force 1 featuring similar retooled hardware. The latter shoe eventually “dropped” official Nike SB ties, and now the most concrete update in the plotline comes with a set of official images.
Indeed, the photos below are attached to the exact product SKU that we and numerous other outlets reported as the “Air Force 1 Skate.” Based on that info, extra padding on the toe and collar should be the big hardware changes that make the shoe befitted to that new life. It’s hard to see much of a difference in these shots, but perhaps its a subtler/interior switch to introduce these to the skate park. At least aesthetically, the monochromatic body and gum sole certainly carry the SB atmosphere well, mirroring both recent product and some of the simplistic arrangements from the aughts.
We’ll assuredly get further clarification on what to expect with the purported Nike Air Force 1 Skate as we draw closer to release. Anticipate a release sometime in the Spring consumer calendar.
