The newfound partnership between adidas and Brain Dead continues to bear fruit. The Los Angeles streetwear brand is poised to release an exploratory three-way collab with Dover Street Market on the adidas Bowling, and for our purposes, they’re also reimagining an under-the-radar silhouette from the Three Stripes’ archives.
The adidas Forest Hills was introduced in 1976 as a tennis shoe named after the Queens neighborhood that formerly hosted the US Open. Brain Dead has four hairy suede colorways on tap, bordering aesthetics seen in many of their Oakley Factory Team collabs. Not only does shaggy fabric completely overtake the upper of each colorway, but the model’s traditionally rubber toe cap also adopts the material in a unique twist.
Starting first with the green “Branch” colorway, the design features maroon leather on the eyelets and heel as well as white stripes with contrast stitching. The “Core Black” colorway sees brown and cream-colored leather up top, while the “Crew White” subtly nods to the model’s OG “Metallic Gold” makeup with blue, green, and yellow stripes. The strongest of the bunch, however, might just be the “Shadow Brown” colorway with its red accents and blue zig-zag stitching around the heel.
The Brain Dead x adidas Forest Hills capsule is scheduled to release on April 1st, 2025, although pricing has yet to be announced. Our “Where To Buy” section below will update with purchase links as we creep closer to that date.
