At a time when collaborations often look like general releases, Jae Tips and Saucony have been providing the market with a much needed breath of fresh air. The Bronx-born multihyphenate is coming off back-to-back years of strong projects that go all-in on color and storytelling, thus helping boost Saucony’s position in the footwear scene as a whole. Now with Paris Fashion Week in full swing, Jae Tips just revealed a collaboration on the Saucony Jazz 9.
Part of the iconic Jazz running line birthed in the 1980s, the Jazz 9 comes as a natural addition to the Jae Tips x Saucony catalog, which has focused almost entirely on retro styles thus far. A hot pink midsole sets the tone, while shades of orange, yellow, and blue continue a lively theme up top. For our purposes, the highlight lives on the heel. Tips includes stitched text reading “I Love You, But I’m Busy” across the left and right shoes, no-doubt teeing up storytelling that ties in with the rest of the design. The inspiration behind the project isn’t entirely clear yet, but it’s possible if not likely that there’s some Valentine’s Day significance to be had.
Specific release information for the Jae Tips x Saucony Jazz 9 hasn’t been floated yet, but Tips writes “coming soon” on his Instagram teaser post. See detailed images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview other upcoming collabs.
