SLAM Closes Out 30th Anniversary Collaboration Series With The adidas Crazy Two

SLAM has been on a generational run of collaborations for its 30th Anniversary series, but it would not have been complete with a tribute to one of its most iconic cover athletes. Kobe Bryant has indeed been saved for last as SLAM and design partner Nick DePaula share a look at the adidas Crazy Two inspired by what many believe to be the media publication’s best cover EVER.

The Crazy Two, formerly the Kobe Two aka Kobe Bryant’s second official signature shoe with adidas, appears in a simple execution, but the design concept is complex. Built in a full suede construction for the first time ever, SLAM sticks a bright yellow (nodding to Kobe’s yellow Lakers jersey) onto the left shoe and a bright blue (the color of the SLAM text on its timeless 15th issue) on the right.

The insoles feature a brick graphic, the backdrop of the iconic Class Of ’96 photo. The tongue features two stars — another nod to the influential hoops platform.

The SLAM x adidas Crazy Two will not see a public release, but the model itself will hit stores this February 2025.
