A myriad of models are set up for significant years in 2025, from the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 to the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95. However, on a more subterranean level, we can expect many more of Beaverton’s mainstay models to remain in the ether, including the Air Max 1. As we finally get into the bulk of 2025 drops, Tinker Hatfield’s design takes on a recently in-vogue theme, appearing draped in “Snakeskin.”
Despite the audacious materials, this Air Max 1 applies them in a metered, tasteful fashion, coating the toe-box, Swoosh, and collar, leaving the rest of the shoe in easily digestible territory. Cream hits on the quarter, and laces and blush pink on the mudguard match the neutral notes of the scaly hardware, while jet black trim on the outsole and sock-liner provide grounded anchoring.
With the Nike Year of the Snake 2025 collection getting so much air time in recent weeks, note that this isn’t expected to be a formal member of that category, instead providing an inline foil to those commemorative pairs.
At the time of this writing, we don’t have a concrete release date for the Nike Air Max 1 “Snakeskin.” In lieu of one, expect this pair to hit Nike.com and local shelves as we enter Spring ’25, likely carrying a premium on the model’s typical $140 retail price.
