At this juncture, it’s fair to say the New Balance 991v2 has been an extraordinary success. While collaborations have been plentiful throughout the model’s short life thus far, including Stone Island 991v2s and an upcoming Salehe Bembury project, compelling general releases are what’s made the Made In UK shoe one of the hottest topics of the year in New Balance circles. Devotees will be happy to hear there’s a new “Grey/Blue” colorway en route, shown here via official retailer images.
Per usual, the design begins with buttery suede overlays, taken in a shade of grey that’s a few notches darker than New Balance’s hallmark hue. The base and underlays sport navy blue treatments, while a splash of khaki paints the rear portion of the midsole, matching the tongue branding and one of the included lace sets. New Balance hasn’t been afraid to bring imposing color combos to the model, as evidence by an multi-colored duo and prized “Brandied Apricot” hairy suede pair, but conservative styles like this have long been the brand’s bread and butter.
The New Balance 991v2 “Grey/Navy” is available now from END. for $249 and will likely release via New Balance and other boutiques in the near future. See official retailer images below and take advantage of our “Where To Buy” widget for purchase links.
