The Nike Air Force 1 Low has a countless number of reimagined off-shoots; so many that’s it’s often easy to lose track. As consumers currently sort through the Shadow, EVO or Wild, they’re getting another option from a few years back, the Air Force 1 Low Luxe.
Layering and depth is the name of the game with the “Luxe,” from the thicker panels on the upper, to the doubled Swoosh attached with exposed stitching, to the sole that juts out from rubber foxing. On that lattermost section, the typical Air branding also stands heavily pronounced from the midsole, tracing prominent line-work across the rear of the shoe. Heavy applications of suede in tonal off-white up top are matched by deep gum brown on that lower portion.
However, while those aesthetic notes do bring a renewed energy to the Air Force 1, the modified underfoot section should really be the main attraction. The circular outsole pattern we’re all familiar with is eschewed entirely, replaced by a jagged polygonal arrangement aimed at increasing traction in harsh conditions.
Boot-like function and icy refined aesthetics make for an easy contender to enter your winter rotation. Keep an eye out for the Air Force 1 Low Luxe this Holiday, retailing at $130.
