Just Build It: Nike And Lego Announce Partnership

We’ll take “bricks” like these any day of the week. Nike and Lego just announced a multi-year partnership, unifying two of the biggest names in sportswear and toys.

According to Nike, the partnership will “celebrate sport and creative play” and appears to be specifically tailored to kids, naturally. We can expect to see a series of co-branded products, content, and experiences as early as next year, although specifics remain under wraps as of now. However, an animation posted by the Nike Instagram account might hint at what’s to come.

Included in the teaser are a variety of Legos with shared significance to both companies. The first ever Lego product – a duck – seamlessly ties in with Nike’s Beaverton, Oregon home, while pegasus and goat Legos nod to Nike running shoes and Michael Jordan, respectively. We also see graphics of Nike soccer cleats, skate ramps, basketballs, and tennis balls, hinting at niche-encompassing projects.

Cal Dowers, VP of Global Kids at Nike, states: “At Nike, we believe in the power of sport to move the world forward, and that starts with kids. We’re committed to creating a more accessible and inclusive future that inspires kids of all ages and abilities to be more active. Together, with the LEGO Group, we’re excited to invite all kids into a new vision of sport and creative play.”

Notably, this could signal the end of Lego’s partnership with adidas, which produced several wearable sneakers as well as co-branded toy sets from 2020-2022.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for sneaker-themed Nike x Lego sets and co-branded footwear, but as mentioned, it will take some time for the partnership to bear fruit. Stick with us while we stay on top of all things Nike x Lego over the coming months.
