Next year marks the 40th anniversary of Air Jordan footwear, and as regular readers are surely aware by now; Jordan Brand is pulling out all the stops. Several iconic models are celebrating huge anniversaries, many of which will soon be recognized by a number of star-studded drops throughout the course of 2025. Even with multiple standouts already appearing on our Jordan Release Dates calendar, the Jumpman’s anniversary blueprint continues to become more clear by the day. Now Sneaker Files reports that the Air Jordan 5, originally released in 1990, will wear special makeup in honor of its 35th anniversary.
Saddled with an official “Metallic Gold/Brilliant Orange/Sail/Muslin” color palette, it’s another standout colorway on model that’s anything but lacking. Headlined by an A Ma Maniére collaboration, the return of the AJ5 Grape worn famously by Will Smith, and a “Black Metallic Reimagined” pair dropping next February, Jordan’s fifth signature it poised to put on a clinic in 2025.
This “Metallic Gold” anniversary pair is expected to release Summer 2025 in women’s sizes, although we haven’t heard of a firm date or MSRP just yet. Official images should arrive over the coming months as well, but the above mock-up provides an educated guess based off past early previews. Notably, 35th wedding anniversaries are commonly referred to as the “Coral” milestone, a point that might be alluded to through “Brilliant Orange” elements, however the design may actualize.
There’s still plenty left to unpack, so stick with us while we provide detailed images and firm release info as we creep closer to a release.
