While we’ve come to expect far ahead release info in the realm of Air Jordans, as the Nike Kobe line begins to rival their hype and anticipation, it seems it’s joining them in some well ahead of time updates. The latest one is a true bombshell- the vaunted Nike Kobe 8 “What The Kobe” is returning to shelves in Summer 2025.
Obviously taking its cues from the iconic Nike Dunk Low of the same name, grafting the asymmetrical concept onto the vibrant looks that defined Kobe’s 8th signature. Swapping between a standard red & white outfit on the left and a more sci-fi counterpart with neon notes of green & orange on the right, instantly emerged as one of the most coveted drops in the Kobe 8’s original run. Given the heights the Mamba’s footwear has reached in recent years, a renewed edition is sure to secure the same status no matter what shape it takes.
To that end, industry source @brandon1an notes that a 1-to-1 replication of the 2013 colorway isn’t set in stone just yet; there’s still a chance that the Summer ’25 release is a reimagining of sorts. However, given that pairs like the “Venice Beach” were met with such wide acclaim for reviving a beloved past edition, a faithful retro seems most likely. Release details are understandably scant at this early stage, but keep a close eye on this article and our Sneaker Release Dates page as we’ll keep both up-to-date with the most current info.
Shifting to another Nike retro, Deion Sanders’ shoes, the Nike Air DT Max ’96, make their triumphant return on June 14th.
