The adidas Samba Keeps Cool In “Cloud White/Silver Green”

A slight shift in the iconic Samba colorblocking & materials.

The adidas Samba Keeps Cool In “Cloud White/Silver Green”

The adidas Samba, a long standing pillar of adidas history, has become a signature model in current focus for the Three Stripes once again, suddenly becoming an extremely in demand model. As they roll out collaborative looks like the Dover Street Market Samba or as a part of Kith adidas Originals, the GR looks keep coming right along with them. Next up is a classic rehashing of the Samba’s roots in “Cloud White/Silver Green.”

In terms of the color blocking, while it’s a little challenging to be too transformative on a silhouette as classic and simple as the adidas Samba, there’s still some novel changes. Counter to the shared shade configuration of the Three Stripes and heel cup, instead the Three Stripes and laces are paired up in “Putty Mauve,” while the leather tongue and back cap take on “Silver Green.” The lace liner and forefoot are the only hits of suede in a shaggy grey, while the typical leather upper construction is here replaced by crinkly canvas.

We’re comfortable saying that this pair of Sambas may not be the most subversive or novel release, but the material changes and switch-up in the layout of its colors make them just intriguing enough. Additionally, the Samba never seems to lose a baseline level of timeless appeal, so this pair in “Cloud White/Silver Green” presents a nice balance of old and new.

Carrying the typical $100 price tag, the adidas Samba “Cloud White/Silver Green” drop on March 8th at 10 AM EST.

Elsewhere for the Three Stripes, their basketball division continues to roll out new looks for all their signature athletes. Check out the latest on Anthony Edwards shoes, James Harden shoes and Trae Young shoes.
