Sneaker News There may be a bit of controversy surrounding the MX Calm Slides and whether or Nike took some liberties with originality, but here’s something that’s truly an inimitable Swoosh creation — the Air More Uptempo.
Designed by Wilson Smith in 1996, the Nike Air More Uptempo has gone on to be one of the most recognizable sneakers in footwear history. In 2023 alone, we saw Nike stretch its possibilities through the art of reduction; we saw it chopped down to a l0w-cut design in a collaboration with Japanese women’s street-fashion brand AMBUSH, but it go its most drastic weight reduction by way of Slide form.
Already releasing in the OG black/white and more, the Air More Uptempo Slides now receive the tonal Pink Rise treatment, perfectly matching a recent women’s release. We suspect them to be a top pick when they eventually arrive to the US market, so stay tuned for the Slides to become available for $75 (the Pink Uptempos will be $170).
