From its debut atop the Air Jordan 14 in 1999 to its successive appearances across the Air Jordan 5 in 2000 and the Air Jordan 1 most recently, Michael Jordan’s high school colors have become synonymous with Jordan Brand’s retro offerings. Returning to the landscape 25 years later in near-exact specifications, the iconic tale of Jordan getting cut from his high school’s varsity team is being told once again atop the AJ 14 tomorrow.
Celebrating the silhouette’s 25th anniversary, the upcoming colorway hits on all the same notes that graced its 1999 debut while being raised from its initial low-cut composition. Nubuck uppers receive a split at the toe, with the forefoot assuming a jet-black arrangement alongside its tongue construction and nylon collar while a boastful “Varsity Blue” treatment consumes the lateral and medial side walls. Ascertaining its staple Ferrari-inspired badge and elongated branding at the spine, hits of “Varsity Maize” curtail the trim of the tongue and the many adjacent branded fixtures.
Scheduled to release tomorrow, May 27th, for a retail price of $210 in adult-exclusive sizing, in the meantime enjoy one last look at the Air Jordan 14 “Laney” below alongside our accompanying store list to grab your pair.
In other news from underneath the Jumpman banner, the Jordan Luka 2 recently assumed a “Rainbow Sherbet” colorway.
