Detailed Look At Drake’s OVO x Air Jordan 8 “Gold” Sample

Drake is undoubtedly among the most influential artists of our generation, boasting over 71 million monthly listeners on Spotify as of today. Nike, too, is very much a fan, going as far to allow the former Degrassi star free reign over their HQ for the “Laugh Now Cry Later” music video. Rare sneakers are also among their many gifts — and back in 2017, they crafted Mr. Graham a OVO x Air Jordan 8 sample clad entirely in gold.

Reminiscent of the OVO x Air Jordan 11s that appeared years back, the OVO x Air Jordan 8 is wrapped almost entirely in gold foil. The metallic extends from the toe through to the heel, casting not just the base but also the straps and hardware over top. The laces, tongue branding, and heel pull are done up to match, while the midsole, lining, and Jumpman logo itself opt for a white finish.

Rounded out with gilded speckling across its bottom, the OVO x Air Jordan 8 will likely never see a retail release. But thanks to photos from collector @englishsole — all of which can be viewed below — we can at least enjoy a detailed look at the shoe.

In other news, early images of the 2023 Spider-Man Air Jordan 1 have appeared.
