Sneaker News Updated January 17th: Nike has officially changed the release date to February 24th.
Don’t expect to see a year-long hoopla by Nike in support of its return, but the Air Max 98 is returning to store shelves once again. The original red/blue/white composition, which has been dubbed the “Gundam” colorway for its semblance to the anime’s protagonist, is coming back for the first time since its debut in 1998. Not long ago, Nike re-issued the Air Max 98 in original and new colorways, and although the Gundams were rumored to be part of that return, it was curiously left out of the brand’s small-scale bring-back. Retailers such as Rock City Kicks still stock these on February 24th.
