Nike Lebron 9 Sample 1

Sneaker News gave you a detailed look at LeBron’s ninth signature shoe earlier this month in the Black/Varsity Red colorway, but here’s a look at a never-before-seen colorway that may or may not make it onto store shelves come this Holiday season. These close-up shots reveal the high-end technical influences on the Nike LeBron 9, like the 180-degree Max Air on the heel, the lightweight weave material on the ankle, the Flywire panel at the midfoot flex of the shoe, and the carbon fiber plate at the midfoot of the sole. There’s no doubt that the Nike LeBron 9 is, empirically, one of the most technically advanced basketball shoes to date, but the likeability of the design of the overall shoe has been one of the hottest debated topics of the last month. Some have praised the high-tech design, while some have questioned the ‘street-wearable’ nature of the shoe. Perhaps it will take a ground-breaking colorway to change some minds like we saw with the way the ‘South Beach’ edition won consumers over on the LeBron 8, but only time will tell at this point. Continue reading for another look at this sample colorway after the jump, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for more updates on the Nike LeBron 9. A big thanks to STJ23 for the photos!
