Stella McCartney is taking sharp — and soft — steps forward this autumn, thanks to her latest shoe style.
The eco-friendly designer’s shoe lineup for the fall 2023 season prominently features her new Ryder pumps: a close-toed style with hoove-shaped toes, closed counters and 3.74-inch heels. However, the $895 style does include one notable detail that especially stands out from your average set of high heels: it’s covered in soft, fluffy faux fur.
The fur in question, which brings the style’s uppers a blast of texture, is crafted from a vegan alternative to real fur. Available in both bright red and ginger-brown colorways, the shoe certainly makes a whimsical statement, as further evidenced in McCartney’s fall 2023 campaign — where Kendall Jenner wore them while surrounded by horses.

Sustainability is core to the pumps, as well, in lieu with McCartney’s environmentally conscious brand ethos. In addition to their shaggy texture, the style also features recycled brass chains and soles partially crafted with recycled rubber and biobased TPU, as well as various “production offcuts in the counter lining” — ensuring waste is minimal when crafting each pair.
McCartney’s Ryder heels certainly stand out within her fall 2023 footwear assortment, which also includes an array of platform-soled booties, loafers, heeled boots and more in hues of black, brown, tan and red. The range also notably features new colorways of the designer’s hit Elyse platform brogues, allowing her to spotlight her signatures while making space for experimental new styles.
In other McCartney news, the designer recently released a collaborative version of her signature Frame handbag. The style, which features crystal embellishments on a light pink base, was co-designed with Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni’s upcoming digital fashion platform, Phia, which will be launched later this fall.
