Melissa Launches Plush Possession Velvet Sandals

Brazilian-based footwear brand Melissa just dropped the perfect fall sandal just in time for the holiday season.
The brand’s fisherman-inspired Possession sandal got a plush and velvety upgrade perfect for the colder seasons. Retailing for $79, the Possession Velvet silhouette is enveloped in a textural flocked finish that mimics the look and feel of velvet.
The new and improved sandal offering is available in “Beige,” “Black,” “Green” and “Pink” colorways in a range of sizes. The silhouette of the Possession sandal remains virtually the same, including caged rounded toes with thick and sturdy straps that wrap around the wearer’s ankles, threaded through adjustable coordinating buckle closures. The style also includes short stacked block heels that offer a subtle lift. Paired with or without socks, the sandal style is extremely stylish and seasonal.
If the velvety finish isn’t your style, Melissa also offers its Possession sandal in a variety of jelly styles in a myriad of finishes including unique colorways like “Mixed Glitter Glass,” “Transparent Beige,” “Orange,” “Pink Glitter” and “Matt White.”

The Possession sandal reached a pop culture high in the 1990s but has enjoyed widespread success since then. In 2020, the label improved upon the style’s sustainable attributes by using 25 percent renewable materials and plant-based raw materials, certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Melissa has collaborated with some big names over the years, including Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, Collina Strada, Campana Zig Zag, Y-Project, Thierry Mugler, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Zaha Hadid, Gareth Pugh, Jason Wu, Jeremy Scott and now Jacobs. The footwear brand was founded in 1979 as a concept store in Milan in the 90s. Today, Melissa has various sales points around the world is now a part of the Melissa universe. The company is the brains behind the original jelly style shoe.
