Lady Gaga made a fashionable entrance at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on Sept. 4, arriving in a classic black Dior dress and matching platform pumps from Christian Louboutin.
The actress is at the festival in support of her upcoming film “Joker: Folie à Deux,” in which she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the follow up to Todd Phillips’ Oscar-winning “Joker.”
In line with the dark themes of the franchise, the singer and actress opted for a black-on-black ensemble for a photocall at the prestigious film festival. Looking like she stepped off a Golden Age film set, she wore a black gown with a square neckline and long sleeves.
With a dramatic A-line silhouette, the dress also featured a wide structured skirt that added volume and femininity to the ensemble. Embracing a cool French girl aesthetic, she also wore sunglasses and a black beret, which was perched in a jaunty manner atop her slick half-up, half-down blonde hairstyle.
Gaga, who is 5′ 1″ tall, took the outfit to another level with a pair of Christian Louboutin‘s Daffodile pumps. The soaring stiletto heel narrows from top to bottom, creating a sharp and edgy look. Like the steeply arched sole, the inner part of the heel also features the brand’s signature red bottom, which makes the style easy recognizable and highly coveted. The typical enclosed pump silhouette is elevated in front with a significant platform that draws attention to the foot.
One never knows what Lady Gaga might wear to an event. Thus far in Venice, she’s been favoring black pumps — she wore a suede pair on Monday with a shiny polka dot dress. Prior to Venice, she made headlines for releasing a duet with Bruno Mars; in the music video for “Die With a Smile,” the two superstars are wearing coordinated blue and red country-inspired outfits, with Gaga completing her look with red Roger Vivier pumps.
