Katy Perry Collections and Hello Kitty have come together for a special shoe collection in honor of the fictional character’s 50th anniversary.
Launching on Aug. 20, the collection features three footwear styles – a sparkly mule with novelty Hello Kitty heel, a bedazzled ballet flat and a pump designed with Hello Kitty’s signature bow.
The Hello Kitty heel mule and bedazzled ballet flat will be available at Katyperrycollections.com and at retailers such as Nordstrom and Von Maur. The bow heel will be exclusive to Perry’s site and will be available in Hello Kitty signature white and a purple colorway to commemorate her 50th anniversary. The collection retails between $109 and $129.

According to the “Firework” singer, she has loved Hello Kitty since she was a little girl. “I was so inspired by [Hello Kitty] that I named my first headline tour the Hello Katy Tour,” Perry said in a statement on Tuesday. “I’m so excited to pair her timeless, joyful style with my Katy Perry Collections shoes. My favorites are the red sparkly slides with Hello Kitty as the heel!”
This news comes after the brand made its debut on HSN in May.
Expanding into HSN is all part of the brand’s renewed focus on building wholesale under its new president Allison Bennett. The executive, who joined Katy Perry Collections in March from Palladium, told FN in an interview earlier this month that there is a “big opportunity” to grow the brand’s wholesale business.
“We see international as a completely untapped market for us,” Bennett said. “We just opened up Mexico, and we have someone helping us get into Asia – which would be a really big new market for us. So, we’re really trying to expand globally.”
