Gucci is taking fluffy steps forward for fall with its newest sandal style.
The Italian luxury brand’s current-season collection is leaning into the ongoing trend of soft-textured shoes with its latest shoe release: a pair of $990 thong sandals. The thin-soled pair, which features short 2.16-inch heels with silver “GG” metal monograms at their centers, notably includes black lambswool lining to form a hairy, tufted effect.
The style is complete with glossy, smooth patent leather uppers — featuring thin, T-style thong straps with a diamond-shaped base, each topped by the Italian brand’s signature gleaming silver metal horsebits — in a deep black tone, creating a monochrome silhouette that’s instantly reminiscent of the ’90s.

In addition to the dark style, the shoe is also available in a white leather colorway for a two-toned effect — as seen from retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue.
Gucci’s fluffy thong sandals are one of the statement styles within its fall 2023 shoe collection, which also includes lug-soled loafers, kitten-heeled pumps, slip-on mules and chunky sneakers in hues of black, white, silver, blue and more. The style is also the latest shoe from a brand to feature softly textured details — which have been seen across sneakers, heels, boots and more from labels ranging from Ugg to Burberry — this fall.
