Best New Artist Grammy winner Doechii was tapped to be a part of Dsquared2‘s fall 2025 ready-to-wear show, which took place in Milan on Feb. 25. The brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025, so the show was peppered with references of memorable moments from the past three decades — and that included Doechii recreating Naomi Campbell‘s iconic run to open their Autumn 2003 show.

The up-and-coming rapper, whose latest mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal” received critical acclaim, paid homage to Campbell’s appearance in Dsquared2’s fall 2003 show. Over 20 years ago, the British supermodel — who notably returned for this year’s show — turned heads when she ran down a red carpet runway leading to an airplane.

Right before it looked like she might climb the stairs to board the plane, she abruptly threw her shopping bags into the crowd, struck a pose, turned around, and showed off her famous runway walk wearing belted mini shorts, a plunging halter neck, a blanket-like cable knit sweater with tassels and heeled sandals with buckles.

Doechii called back to that moment by stepping out of what looked like a military vehicle (with a gallant assistant helping her), fanning and then dropping a wad of cash to the floor, then taking off down the runway in a run wearing strappy heeled sandals, appearing to be the designers’ popular Riri Sandals. Her outfit, while different than Campbell’s, also included belted mini shorts. The rest of the ensemble fused a corset top, parka and T-shirt with a train into a complex, avant-garde layered look; she also wore a backpack as if she was on a hiking trip.

In addition to walking (and running) in the show, Doechii performed alongside fellow rapper JT. For that portion of the event, Doechii wore a black version of the eye-catching “Skate Moss” boot, which is getting a limited-edition reissue this year as part of the brand’s 30th anniversary.

As for Campbell’s presence in this year’s show, the fashion icon made an appearance wearing black skin-tight over-the-knee boots and a black zip-up bodysuit, making for an edgy leather look.
