Christian Louboutin hosted the fifth edition of “The Loubi Show” on Monday, debuting his fall 2024 collection during Paris Fashion Week. With the Le Trianon theater as the venue, the presentation featured choreography by French artistic director Leo Walk and his dance company “La Marche Bleue.”
Set to live music from Clara Cappagli and Armand Bultheel of the group Agar Agar, the performance included 12 dancers wearing the MJ Moc loafers, some of which were embellished for the show. Dancers were also seen in the chunky Miss Sabina heeled sandal onstage.
The collection itself, which was exhibited in a gallery that attendees could peruse through before and after the onstage show, incorporated inspirations from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, with styles covered in sunset-inspired degrade rhinestone.
Taking on the current cowboy core trend that has been taking over fashion, the brand’s Santiabooty, Santia Botta and Santigag Strass styles were updated with an American West-inspired editions for the fall 2024 season. Some are in washed denim while others come in black suede with contrast stitching.
A limited-edition version of the Santigag Strass is available in black or tan, features hand-stitched embroideries using metallic thread, and ornate glass bead needlework as well as 3D crystals, requiring up to 220 hours of work per pair.
Though the company’s bestselling Sporty Kate was not included in the presentation, this season will introduce a kitten-heeled slingback edition of the style. It will be joined by the Minny, an all-new pump featuring a chunky inflated-like heel and squared toe cap. It comes in multiple versions including a slingback.
The show brought out several big names, including Yara Shahidi, Barbara Palvin, Winston Duke, Boo Seungkwan, CT Hedden and “RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.” star Tayce.
