A limited number of pairs of the silver boot seen during the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games is now available to the public.
Created by Parisian footwear brand Both in collaboration with designer Jeanne Friot, the boots were first seen on the silver knight rider going up the Seine River as well as on the Joan of Arc character who delivered the official Olympic flag during the ceremony.
Now, the collaborative Gao Platform Thigh High Boots in silver are available to consumers in a small run of 24 units, which are numbered and signed by the two designers. Available in sizes 39 to 45, the boots are made of sustainable materials including recycled plastic and natural rubber and are paired with a unique belt-made leg detail characteristic of Jeanne Friot’s style.
This isn’t the first time the two companies have come together. In June, the duo unveiled a line of boots for spring/summer 2025 during Friot’s show at Paris Fashion Week Men’s. For this collection, there were two stomping over-the-knee boot designs, one referencing her signature belted designs in a white colorway, another imitating the seams of the season’s denim pieces in a black colorway.
Both, which launched in 2016, has also teamed up with brands like Dion Lee and Monse, and is available at retailers like Ssense, Farfetch and its store in Tokyo, Japan.
But the Friot collaboration capped off an exciting year for Both. Last January, the label opened its first European store. Located at 6 rue de la Corderie in the Marais neighborhood of Paris, the shoe brand’s store opened in tandem with Paris Fashion Week Men’s.
The Both x Jeanne Friot Gao Platform Thigh High Boots in silver, which retail for $1,980, are now available at Both’s Parisian flagship as well as at Printemps Haussmann Homme until the beginning of March.
