Singer Alicia Keys is back in denim. The New Yorker pulled on a pair of destroyed baggy jeans for her trip to this year’s US Open in New York City where she watched matches with friend Serena Williams. For the look, in contrast to Williams’ tenniscore vibes, Keys went classic in a pair of brown pointed toe pumps.
Styled by Jason Bolden, the performer wore a classic white button down, ripped jeans, and a small bag. The entire look came from Ralph Lauren Collection. The jeans are a cargo silhouette, including extra pockets. The handbag is the company’s RL 888.

Keys also wore cargo jeans in June. At the time, she was promoting the musical “Hell’s Kitchen.” For that outfit, she wore a pair of white pointed toe boots with a braided heel from Charles & Keith.
For the US Open, Keys stuck with the pointed toe silhouette. But, instead of a boot featuring a square heel, she opted for a classic stiletto pump from Schutz. The shoe is the company’s Lou style. Made of nappa leather, the heel measures almost four inches. Schutz currently sells their Lou pump shoe for $138.
Keys and Williams were spotted in the stands together over the weekend and the stars’ style choices couldn’t have been more different. While Keys followed other stars like Kerry Washington who wore heels to the tennis event, the former tennis player chose comfort in a pair of Gucci Re-Web sneakers.
Stiletto pumps are one of the most classic heel styles in a woman’s wardrobe. Reportedly first introduced in their most current iteration by Roger Vivier in 1954, stiletto pumps cover the outside of the foot while leaving the top exposed and lift the wearer off the ground via a thin heel. The most classic styles are done in solid colors like black, white, as well as other neutrals and can be used to complete looks ranging from jeans and a t-shirt to gowns for the Venice Film Festival.
