Did Yandel Just Reveal His Next Ewing Athletics Collaboration?

It appears as if Yandel has another collaboration with Ewing Athletics on the way.

The Puerto Rican singer and songwriter has shared a behind-the-scenes look via social media and YouTube of his newest single, “Con Co.” In the video, Yandel revealed a new Ewing Athletics, a fresh iteration of the low-cut SL33 model.

Yandel’s shoe of choice was dressed in earth tones, with forest green, brown and tan hues consuming the upper, which also featured hits of 3M. Underfoot are midsoles in the same forest green hue and the look is completed with classic gum outsoles. The look also included a toggle lacing system, which is uncharacteristic for the silhouette.

A subsequent video was shared on Instagram by Yandel’s son, a reggaeton producer and goes by the name of Sour. The video revealed the new shoe and the shoebox.

Although this appears to be a new collaboration, neither Yandel or Ewing Athletics has confirmed. FN has reached out to Ewing Athletics for comment.

This shoe would mark the second time the two have collaborated.

In January, Yandel x Ewing Athletics released a limited-edition Rogue, a look replete with nods to the artist’s heritage. The shoe included a Spanish-language booklet, the tissue paper inside the box featured the Puerto Rican flag. It came packaged in a Ewing Athletics x Yandel branded box featuring an English and Spanish comic on the inside that narrates the story of the shoe. It was executed in gray and white nubuck and leather on the uppers, which also featured scuba blue accents. Also, the white part of the Rogue was reflective and the scuba blue outsole glowed in the dark.

Ewing Athletics is the namesake brand of NBA icon Patrick Ewing, who launched the company in 1989.
