Supreme and Nike have been collaborating for more than 20 years, but there’s one essential sneaker from the Swoosh that they’ve never partnered on. That is, until now.
The Supreme x Nike Air Max 1 will release this week with a total of four colorways. First teased last month in Supreme‘s spring 2025 lookback, the sneaker is loaded with more details than may initially meet the eye.
Each colorway features a white leather Swoosh with a debossed snakeskin pattern, as well as the streetwear brand’s “World Famous” tagline embroidered on the heel in the same color. Supreme’s Box Logo appears on the silver-tone metal lace dubrae, just like on its Air Force 1s, and just underneath “1994” is embroidered in each variant’s respective color as a callout to the year the label was founded. Supreme’s name can also be found debossed on the midsole’s heel, and a red Box Logo appears on the tongue tag to match the insole.
The assortment comprises options in purple, yellow, white and black. A small run of apparel and accessories will also release alongside the sneakers.
Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield is responsible for the Air Max 1, which came into the world in 1987 as the first sneaker with a visible Air unit. Holding a degree in architecture, Hatfield was inspired by the Centre Pompidou in Paris in his decision to make such a key internal component visible from the exterior.
Supreme’s take on the Air Max 1 comes just ahead of Air Max Day March 26, the annual celebration of the day the original Air Max first hit stores. The New York City-based brand has collaborated on several other Air Max silhouettes, and its treatment for the Air Max Dn last year served as the model’s introduction.
The Supreme x Nike Air Max 1 will release Thursday, March 20, through Supreme’s website and stores. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.
