Legendary NYC graffiti artist Stash and Nike held an early release for their latest set of sneaker collaborations at Art Basel Miami over the weekend. The in-person activation took place at Concepts’ newly opened Miami door and featured an expansive display of the artist’s numerous Nike collaborations over the years including samples, unreleased pairs and a handful of previously seen styles.
For those who couldn’t make it to the event, the pre-launches of the Stash x Nike Air Force 1 Low and Air Max 95 sneakers are available now ahead of their wider SNKRS release on Friday. And for enthusiasts seeking to soak up some of the sneaker history on display at the event, a comprehensive archive is also included on the launch website, blueisback.nyc.
The Stash x Nike timeline includes images and details for all of the artist’s collaborations with the brand ranging from 2003 to today. As the first ever artist to collaborate with Nike, the duo’s output has been highly influential in sneaker culture and design, shaping the groundwork for the way brands work together today. In total, 16 different Stash x Nike sneaker collaborations have been released thus far, with many other sample versions and unreleased pairs also on display.
All of Stash’s Nike collaborations, including the debut “Fat Cap” Air Force 1 High, the Air Max BW (aka Air Classic BW) that established his signature blue palette and collaborations with his boutiques, Nort and Recon, are included in the retrospective gallery.
Other highlights include a sample version of Stash’s Nike Zoom Kobe 1 collaboration from 2006 and in-depth looks at his most recent releases with the brand including the Air Zoom Spiridon, Air Force 1 Low and Air Max 95.
Readers can peruse a selection of Stash x Nike sneaker samples below and find the full collection at blueisback.nyc. The website also includes the newly released Stash x Nike Air Force 1 ($160) and Stash x Nike Air Max 95 ($200) “Blue Pack 2.0” sneakers, which can be purchased both individually or in a two-pack for $360.
