Salomon is continuing its collaborative streak, thanks to a new shoe style made with Ssense.
As part of Ssense XX — a collaborative line with various brands, which celebrates the retailer’s 20th anniversary — Salomon has released a new version of its XT-6 GTX sneakers. The resulting $220 style features its same rounded toes and technical uppers, accented by a subversive new dark brown color palette with black and white trim.
The geometric style’s technical mesh sneakers are overlaid with black and white paneling featuring Salomon’s graphic lettering logos. The set is further accented with textured black and blue rubber soles — complete with midsoles in hues of tonal blue and vibrant lime green.
The set is finished with padded counters and curved, padded tongues — complete with Salomon’s signature tongue accents in hues of yellow, red and blue. Rubber midsoles and molded Ortholite footbeds bring the pair a burst of relaxed comfort, while thin black Quicklace laces complete the style with a secure finish.
In addition to Salomon, Ssense XX’s other collaborations feature clothing, footwear and home goods co-designed with brands including Y/Project, New Balance, Jil Sander, KNWLS and The Elder Statesman, among others.
Salomon’s collaboration with Ssense is the shoe brand’s latest this year. In 2023, the French footwear label has released an array of co-branded shoe styles with multiple labels, including MM6 Maison Margiela, Sandy Liang and Jah Jah, among others.
