The Best Sneakers Releasing in February

February is stacking up as a month absolutely loaded with sneaker releases, and not just because of the NBA All-Star Game and the fact that it’s the shortest month of the year.

While the All-Star Weekend is flush with retro Air Jordans, a fan-favorite Foamposite, and a KD 4 colorway making its first-ever return, the rest of the month also has a lot to offer. The Nike Field General, which many are already billing as an Adidas Samba competitor, is coming back for the first time since the ’80s near the end of the month. James Harden’s latest model will also make its debut later on, while February will kick off with Converse Chuck 70s featuring 1,300 Swarovski crystals per pair, New Balance’s latest marathon shoe, and the iconic “Brazil” Dunk.

New Balance Made in USA “Grey/Black/White” Pack

Release Date: Feb. 1
Price: $200 to $210
Led by Teddy Santis of Aimé Leon Dore fame, New Balance’s Made in USA line is dropping the 990v3, 990v6, 996, and 998 all with the same grey, black, and white color scheme. All but the 996 ($200) are priced at $210.

Swarovski x Converse Chuck 70 De Luxe Squared

Release Date: Feb. 1
Price: $300
A total of 1,300 crystals adorn each pair of these Chuck 70s, which have also been given a more angular toe cap matched by an “All-Star” logo that’s been reshaped into an octagon.

New Balance FuellCell SuperComp Elite v4

Release Date: Feb. 1

New Balance’s top-of-the-line marathon shoe gets its latest update, as the FuelCell SC Elite v4 features a thinner carbon fiber plate and a midsole that’s been both reshaped and now utilizes Peba FuelCell foam in full.

Adidas Adilette 22 “Bold Green”

Nike Dunk Low “Brazil”

One of Nike’s longest-running Dunk Low colorways returns once again — and much sooner after the 2020 retro brought back the shoe for the first time since 2001.

New Balance Fresh Foam BB v2

Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine provided input to help inform the updates to New Balance’s Fresh Foam BB, and the v2’s launch colorway takes inspiration from his off-court style through cream suede with pink accents.

Puma MB.01 “Iridescent”

Even though LaMelo Ball is now on his third signature sneaker, Puma continues to trot out new colorways for his first, the MB.01, as this tonal pink look may remind sneakerheads of Kevin Durant’s “Aunt Pearl” series.

Lapstone & Hammer x Asics Gel-NYC and Gel-1130

Philadelphia-based boutique flexes its sense of craftsmanship through dip-dyed Gel-NYC and Gel-1130 sneakers that have been worked by hand and will release with just a total of 100 pairs. No two pairs are exactly alike in their look inspired by stonewash denim.

Air Jordan 3 Craft “Ivory”

Suede sneaks its way onto the Air Jordan 3 Craft “Ivory” through layered panels intended to resemble a blurred perspective. The sneaker also features a yellow-tinged translucent outsole, heel panel, and eyestays as the only real splashes of color.

Nike KD 4 “Year of the Dragon 2.0”

This isn’t a retro but rather an homage to the original KD 4 “Year of the Dragon” from 2012. That year’s celebration involved the “Water Dragon,” while this year’s looks to the “Wood Dragon” with a tonal brown look featuring a grain pattern on the strap and a mythical creature on the heel.

Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Court Purple” and “Radiant Emerald”

Taking inspiration from an Air Jordan 4 pack from 2020 and the original Air Jordan 1 “Metallic” series from 1986, this new gold iteration of the AJ1 arrives as a women’s exclusive and includes pendant and chain accessory.

JJJJound x New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex “Charcoal” and “Pine”

After another take on the 2002R that was more involved than your typical JJJJound collab, New Balance and the Montreal-based creative studio return to the model with two two-tone colorways more in line with latter’s trademark minimalism.

Adidas Crazy 8 “All-Star”

The sneaker Kobe Bryant wore in 1998 for his first NBA All-Star Game appearance are coming back for the first time since 2011, with one small tweak: “’98” replacing the “8” embroidery on the tongue.

Supreme x Nike Air Max DN

Supreme is deviating from its usual pattern for Nike collaborations by making just one colorway for the Air Max DN to launch the brand-new silhouette. Nike’s freshest adaptation of Air Max technology won’t get a wider release until March, and tapping Supreme shows just how much the Swoosh wants the cool factor to rub off.

Adidas Harden Vol. 8 “Sculpted”

James Harden’s eight signature sneaker, and perhaps the oddest yet, makes its debut with a mix of black and “Hazy Copper” orange. The ring-shaped cage is made of EVA foam, while full-length Lightstrike foam sits underneath.

The Adidas Superstar’s radical semi-formal transformation by Clot founder Edison Chen quietly launched at select boutiques in January but is now getting a wider release through Adidas.

Undefeated x Nike Air Terra Humara

Following their collaboration in December, Undefeated and Nike are dropping two additional colorways for the Air Terra Humara, a trail running shoe from the late-’90s that’s long been beloved for lifestyle settings as well. Undefeated will be the only place to buy them, but the first drop didn’t see a rapid sell-out.

“Panda” meets “Bred” on this new but familiar colorway on the Air Jordan 1. A somewhat similar version went under the radar last year, so this AJ1 could be an easy scoop.

Even though it’s not an original colorway, the Nike Air Foamposite One “Eggplant” has been a fan-favorite since its introduction in 2009. This year’s retro marks just the third time the shoe has been released and comes six years after the last.

Nike Field General “White/Varsity Red”

Many sneakerheads are already tapping the Field General to be an Adidas Samba competitor before it makes its return 40 years after it’s original run. But the American football-rooted silhouette also shares a lot of DNA with the Killshot, a former J. Crew favorite, and Tom Sachs’ General Purpose Shoe.
