Puma’s Sold-Out Red Speedcat Sneaker Is Restocking This Week

The hottest sneaker in the world is set to restock in just one day.
The red Puma Speedcat OG, named in October as the hottest sneaker in the world by Lyst, will release again on Tuesday. All colorways of the model had been sold out through Puma at the time of Lyst’s report, while the red version was difficult to find in most sizes throughout the wide retail pool.
Puma originally designed the Speedcat for Formula 1 racers in 1998, and a year later it would go on sale to the general public without fireproofing. It would be relaunched as the Speedcat LS in 2020, but the marketing push for the Speedcat OG that’s stuck just began this year.
Popularity for the Speedcat comes after other low-profile sneakers including the Adidas Samba and Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 have had a choke-hold on fashion. It’s also been bolstered by increased interest in Formula 1, and celebrities that have been seen wearing the model include Emily Ratajkowski, and Dua Lipa.

Lyst named the red Speedcat is the third hottest product overall for the third quarter of 2024, which covers the summer. The only shoe ahead of it was the Alaïa Fishnet Ballet Flat, which was placed at first overall, while Coach’s Suede Brooklyn Shoulder bag came in second. Only two other shoes appeared in the top ten, as Ganni’s Mid Shaft Biker Boot and Clarks Original’s Wallabees came in at sixth and ninth, respectively.
For 2024 Q1, Lyst named another flat sneaker, the Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL, as the world’s hottest shoe.
The red Puma Speedcat OG will release Tuesday, November 26, through Puma’s website. Both men’s and women’s sizes will be available for $100.
