Puma Re-Teams With KidSuper On New Collection Reimagining Easy Rider and Palermo Sneakers

Puma and KidSuper are continuing their relationship to launch a new collection featuring footwear, apparel and accessories, slated for release on Sept. 21. Drawing from Puma‘s athletic heritage and “created through the lens of football,” the collection infuses sportswear with pastel colorways, custom designed patterns and modern aesthetics.

In the shoe realm of the collection, KidSuper reimagines Puma‘s Easy Rider and Palermo silhouettes. An official press release describes the shoes, “KidSuper’s takes on the Easy Rider and Palermo carry over the rippling lines and color tones, with mixed materials including mesh and suede lending the collaborative footwear a deconstructed feel.”

The options include a white sneaker with pink mesh accents; a blue, pink and white suede sneaker; and a multi-colored suede sneaker patterned with various earth tones and splashes of blue.

Puma and the artist known as KidSuper, aka Colm Dillane, hosted a comedy extravaganza at The Apollo on Sept. 9 to launch the collection. In addition to lineup of standup comedians, they screened episode two of the limited animated series “SCRAM!”, which features Puma ambassadors Jack Grealish, Lamelo Ball and Neymar Jr., in addition to Westside Gunn, Thierry Henry and Usain Bolt.

Puma revealed in the release that the animated series influenced the creative direction of the campaign: “The collection’s campaign is guided by the coming-of-age motifs portrayed in ‘SCRAM!,’ depicting the disparate cliques of New York City coming together to showcase the latest Puma x KidSuper drop.”

Additional items in the collection include track pants, jackets, a vest, and a graphic tee and crewneck, among other options.

Puma and KidSuper previously partnered up earlier this year on the Sports Club soccer-influenced collection which included new versions of the Velophasis and Palermo sneakers. The two have also worked on redesigning LaMelo Ball’s MB.03 sneaker in a bright pink colorway with a bold pattern of eyes and lips.
