Palladium‘s new sneakers are bringing the spirit of mountaineering to city dwellers this fall.
The footwear brand’s new fall 2023 collection, “Outcity,” highlights the escapism of hiking and the great outdoors with practical elements for anyone who’s constantly on the go. One of the main standouts from the line is its Troop Runner Outcity sneaker — a chunky style that merges elements of both sneakers and hiking boots, with a retro flair from 1980s-inspired details.
The Troop Runner Outcity features a technical fabric base with padded counters, narrow toes and smooth, faintly angled rubber midsoles — all instantly reminiscent of ’80s runner-style sneakers. Its uppers continue that theme with mixed leather, webbing and nylon paneling for a layered approach, cinched by cord laces and trimmed with technical counter loops. For a practical, utilitarian touch, the style is finished with ridged rubber outsoles that climb up its sides and elongate into curved toe caps.
Made in both men’s and women’s sizes, the sneaker is also available in a wide variety of colorways. A stark white palette compromises one of the shoes in both men’s and women’s sizing, leaning into the versatility of neutral tones — as does the shoe’s eclectic palette of dark blue, pale taupe and light green. On the men’s front, additional colorways include a light gray, black and dusky green palette, while another features dark gray, beige and tonal orange hues — which smoothly lean into staple fall colors.
Within the women’s assortment, the shoes feature equally mixed tones as well. One shoe’s palette features a black base overlaid with dark beige, pale gray and pink-orange trim, while another includes tones of light tan, stormy blue and a vibrant light orange.
Palladium’s first drop from its “Outcity” collection is currently available on the brand’s website. In addition to its new Troop Runner Outcity sneakers, the line also includes similarly multi-textured lace-up boots, high and low-top sneaker boots and more in a wide range of punchy and dark colors.
