After dropping a massive collection of the Pegasus 41 in colorways for different colleges across the country, Nike is now introducing another range of the running sneaker for all 32 NFL teams.
The Nike Pegasus 41 NFL pack is out now, just in time for the NFL’s first game of the season Friday night. Each iteration of the sneaker makes use of its respective team’s primary and secondary colors for its upper, while the midsole hosts the team’s wordmark on the upper portion of the midfoot. You can then find each time’s logo on the toecap, with some teams such as the Dallas Cowboys opting for throwback or alternative logos.
The Pegasus 41 is the latest in Nike’s longest-enduring series of running sneakers and is the first to make use of the brand’s ReactX foam. The foam is used at full length in the midsole and is bolstered with Zoom Air units at the forefoot and heel, providing a 13 percent more energy return and 43 percent lower carbon footprint than the Pegasus 40. While the upper hasn’t undergone as robust of a transformation as its predecessor, featuring the same midfoot internal band, it does make use of a lighter and more breathable engineered mesh.
In addition to the baseline Pegasus 41, Nike has introduced the Pegasus Plus over the summer. Its midsole is made up of the higher-end ZoomX foam that appears in Nike’s supershoes, and Flyknit is used for the upper. Next year will also see the launch of the Pegasus Premium, which will be Nike’s first shoe to ever feature a full-length, sculpted Air Unit. The wavy Air Zoom unit will sit in between layers of ZoomX and ReactX foam, the latter of which is targeted at the heel, to offer the greatest energy return yet for a Pegasus sneaker.
The Nike Pegasus 41 NFL pack is out now on Nike’s website with colorways for all 32 teams. Pricing is set at $150.
