With the arrival of LeBron James and Deion SandersNike LeBron 21 “Prime ’93” sneakers just around the corner, another hybrid sneaker from the two sports superstars is joining in on the action. In addition to Sanders’ first Air Diamond Turf model, elements of the former dual-sport star’s third sneaker, the Air DT Max ’96, will also be featured atop the tooling of James’ LeBron 21 model.

First debuted by James himself during the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, the Nike LeBron 21 “Prime ’96” has been a long time coming and it’s finally set to be released before the end of the month. The mash-up model uses James’ 21st signature sneaker as its base, restructuring the upper to not only resemble but feature many of the same details seen on Sanders’ Air DT Max ’96. The latter’s distinct claw cut-outs allow the LeBron 21’s Flywire cable wraps to peek through. Elsewhere, the Air DT Max ’96’s midfoot support strap and tongue logo can be found on the retro-meets-modern sneaker.

In addition to the red pair that is set to hit stores soon, James has worn and teased other colorways of the LeBon 21 “Prime ’96.” The look worn by James during last year’s All-Star Game was a black-based style with white and gold accents. Then, in October, the NBA veteran shared an Ohio State-themed make up ahead of a Buckeyes football game.

Also on the horizon for Sanders’ signature Nike line is a prototype version of his first signature shoe and a Mother’s Day-themed iteration of the Air DT Max ’96.

The Nike LeBron 21 “Prime ’96” colorway that is set to hit SNKRS and select Nike retailers is a “White/Metallic Gold/Fire Red” style which would have been a near-perfect match for the San Francisco 49ers, where Sanders played briefly in 1994. Readers can expect the pair to hit stores on April 25 for a retail price of $180.
