Nike‘s slate for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game is growing even more robust, as its contemporary GT series is mashed up with some of the Swoosh’s classic basketball sneakers.
The GT Jump 2, GT Cut 3, and GT Hustle 2 each take after a different basketball sneaker from the mid- to late-’90s while undergoing a significant transformation for their uppers. The GT Jump 2 takes after the Total Foamposite Max, the 1998 sneaker worn by Tim Duncan and featuring an injected-molded upper. Informing the GT Cut 3 is the Zoom Flight 5, which debuted in 1997 and was favored by Jason Kidd. Rounding out the collection is the GT Hustle 2’s transformation to include the same “Air” spell-out as the Air More Uptempo, the most iconic sneaker of the lot and which is most commonly associated with Scottie Pippen.
By merging basketball past and present, Nike satisfies retro-mania while maintaining the performance standards of today. There should be a nontrivial chance that the sneakers make appearances on the court during this year’s All-Star Weekend, as not every player involved has their own signature sneaker. For the All-Star Game itself, New York Knicks center Julius Randle already favors the GT Jump 2.

The “All-Star” mash-ups for the GT Jump 2, GT Cut 3 and GT Hustle 2 are all slated to release Feb. 13, just days before the All-Star Weekend commences. Pricing for the former two will be set at $190, while the latter will cost $170.
