Despite Nike, Inc.’s newly appointed CEO Elliott Hill stating the brand would soon slow production of iconic shoes such as the Air Force 1, it doesn’t appear that the plan has gone into effect just yet. Numerous new Air Force 1 styles continue to proliferate in the market including “Pink Foam” and Easter-themed pairs along with upcoming twists on the sneaker courtesy of the brand’s digital-focused .Swoosh division. Additionally, the retro sneaker is getting new patent leather looks just in time for the warmer weather.
Arriving at retailers now are two new Nike Air Force 1 Low styles with matching details. Available in “Hydrangeas” and “Wolf Gray” colorways, these just-released Air Force 1 Lows both feature shiny patent leather overlays that are reminiscent of A Bathing Ape’s popular early 2000s Bape Sta sneakers and some of Nike’s own releases such as Undefeated’s 2022 collaboration. Here, Nike has been a bit more conservative with the glossy material, using it only on the overlays of the two pairs.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Hydrangeas” features a full colorway of “Hydrangeas/White/Doll,” which translates to a soft pink “Doll” leather base that is contrasted by light purple “Hydrangeas” patent leather wrapping the overlays. Meanwhile, the similarly blocked “Wolf Gray” style uses a “Wolf Gray/White/Vast Gray” colorway which mixes two shades of gray across its matte and patent leather upper. Both iterations feature thick rope laces which give the duo further fellowship.
Like many of Nike’s recent Air Force 1 drops, these new patent leather pairs don’t appear to have an official hard release date and are instead arriving at retailers sporadically. Both styles pictured here can be purchased now for $120 each from stores including Hibbett, Snipes, Shoe Gallery and Shoe Palace.
